Car Care at Home is responsible for the information handled through this website. This notice explains the services used to deliver our pages and product images, and the choices available when you visit.

Information involved in a visit
When a browser requests a page or image, the service delivering it receives technical information such as the IP address, requested address, request time and browser information. This information helps deliver the response, investigate faults and protect the service against misuse.
Cloudflare hosts the website and provides delivery and security services. We use these services for our legitimate interests in operating a reliable website and protecting it from abuse. See Cloudflare’s privacy information for details of its services and processing.
The site does not currently provide reader accounts or a newsletter. The kit checklists, setup selector and dilution calculators work in your browser. They do not send the values you enter to us or save them in browser storage.
Website analytics
We use Cloudflare Web Analytics to understand page views, referring websites and how quickly pages load. The browser loads Cloudflare’s analytics beacon and sends page and performance measurements so we can identify popular guidance and improve the site.
Cloudflare states that this service does not use analytics cookies or local storage, create visitor fingerprints, or track individuals across its customers’ websites. Its Web Analytics reporting does not log URL query strings. We do not add calculator values, checklist selections or enquiry content to analytics events.
Read Cloudflare’s analytics data-collection information, its Web Analytics privacy explanation and its analytics reporting and retention information. Browser privacy settings and blocking tools can prevent some measurements from reaching the service.
Amazon product images and external links
Product-image information is obtained through this website’s Amazon image service. Your browser then requests the product photograph from Amazon’s image servers, so Amazon receives the technical information needed to deliver that image. The image service requests product identifiers; it does not ask you for a name or email address.
Following an Amazon product link takes you to Amazon, where its own privacy and cookie choices apply. Affiliate links include a site tracking identifier that attributes qualifying purchases to Car Care at Home. We do not receive your payment details or a named record of your shopping basket through those links. Read Amazon’s privacy notice and our affiliate disclosure for more information.
Other manufacturer and reference links also lead to services governed by their own privacy terms. Our site’s fonts and editorial photographs are served from our own site assets.
Enquiries by form or email
The contact form collects your name, email address, enquiry type, message and an optional page address. We save your message in a dedicated Cloudflare database before sending an email notification to our inbox. Your email becomes the notification’s reply address so we can answer you. If notification delivery is delayed, the saved message remains available and the service retries the alert.
Cloudflare Turnstile checks browser and request information to protect the form against spam. We also use a short-lived, salted and hashed connection identifier to limit repeated submissions. The enquiry database does not store the raw connection IP address. Scheduled cleanup removes the rate-limit records after a day. Read Cloudflare’s Turnstile privacy information.
Cloudflare provides form storage, spam protection, email routing and notification delivery. Google provides the inbox used to handle enquiries; see Google’s privacy policy. Emails sent to our public hello address are forwarded to that inbox. Please send only the information needed for your enquiry and avoid payment details, passwords or sensitive personal information.
We use enquiry information to answer questions, investigate corrections and handle privacy requests. We rely on our legitimate interests in responding to readers and maintaining accurate guidance, and on legal obligations where they apply to privacy requests. We do not use enquiries for marketing or automated decisions about people.
Storage and retention
We keep enquiry information while it is needed to answer your message, investigate an issue, retain a necessary correction record or meet a legal requirement. We review that need when an enquiry is resolved and delete information no longer required. Hosting, security and email providers may retain operational logs and backups under their service arrangements.
The website does not provide visitor accounts or newsletter subscriptions. We do not use the calculators or checklists to build a visitor profile. Operational request information may be processed by the delivery and security providers described above; this is separate from temporary caching of product-image information.
Your choices and rights
Depending on the circumstances, data-protection rights can include access to personal information, correction, deletion, restriction and objection to its use. Some rights depend on the reason for processing. You can object to processing based on legitimate interests; the circumstances of the request determine whether that processing must stop.
